Forms for filing for office are available at the Clerk & Recorder’s office in the Sweet Grass County Annex at 115 West 5th Ave. in Big Timber or the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.sos.mt.gov/Elections.

FEDERAL PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION FILING DEADLINES
• First day to File – February 17, 2026
• Last day to File – 5:00 pm on March 4, 2026
When:
• Primary Election – June 2, 2026
• General Election – November 3, 2026
• Declaration for Nomination for County office is available through the Clerk and Recorder’s office. Declarations are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 4, 2026
Close of Registration:
• Primary Election – May 4, 2026. – Late voter registration begins May 5, 2026
• General Election – October 5, 2026.- Late voter registration begins October 6, 2026
