The Sweet Grass County Sheriff’s Office was formed in 1895 and has had a tradition of service to the community ever since. We are responsible for general Law Enforcement in Sweet Grass County and the City ofBig Timber. Deputies patrol in the county’s 1862 square miles and provide services to the population of 3651 residents as well as visitors to our community. Duties carried out include, but are not limited to Search and Rescue, Criminal Investigation, General Patrol, Civil Process, Concealed Weapons Permits, Prisoner Transports, Court Security, Brand Inspections and Livestock Trip Permits.
